Gene­va, 27 January 2025 – The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) has today laun­ched its Annual Report 2024 in video for­mat, show­ca­sing sig­ni­fi­cant achie­ve­ments in sus­tai­na­bi­lity, scien­ti­fic inno­va­tion, and safety stan­dards across the glo­bal fra­gran­ce industry. IFRA announces launch of the 2024 Volume of Use survey

Gene­va, 28 March 2024 – The Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) is plea­sed to announ­ce the com­men­ce­ment of its 2024 Volu­me of Use (VoU) sur­vey. The VoU sur­vey is a cru­cial initia­ti­ve con­duc­ted around every four years to com­pi­le com­prehen­si­ve data on the volu­mes of fra­gran­ce ingre­dients uti­li­zed in the pro­duc­tion of fra­gran­ce mix­tu­res. The sur­vey unders­co­res IFRA’s unwa­ve­ring com­mit­ment to pro­mo­ting safety, trans­pa­rency, and sus­tai­na­bi­lity within the glo­bal fra­gran­ce industry.

This sum­mit, under the the­me A world of fra­gran­ce: buil­ding brid­ges bet­ween inno­va­tion and glo­bal regu­la­tion,’ explo­red the evol­ving dyna­mics bet­ween inno­va­tion and regu­la­tory fra­me­works in the fra­gran­ce sec­tor. The two-day con­fe­ren­ce, which con­ti­nues tomo­rrow, addres­ses the futu­re of fra­gran­ce sus­tai­na­bi­lity, tech­ni­cal inno­va­tion, glo­bal regu­la­tion, and mul­ti-sta­kehol­der collaboration.

Through its five policy recom­men­da­tions, IFRA reaf­firms its com­mit­ment to advan­cing safe, sus­tai­na­ble, and inno­va­ti­ve fra­gran­ce prac­ti­ces and offers con­cre­te sug­ges­tions to help inco­ming EU policy makers shift towards a more com­pe­ti­ti­ve, resi­lient Euro­pean Union.

European Parliament votes to approve revision of chemicals rules

Brus­sels, 23 April 2024 – Cos­me­tics Euro­pe and the Inter­na­tio­nal Fra­gran­ce Asso­cia­tion (IFRA) today wel­co­med the Euro­pean Par­lia­ment vote on the revi­sion of the Regu­la­tion on the Clas­si­fi­ca­tion, Labe­lling and Pac­king of che­mi­cals (CLP). The vote con­firms the text agreed bet­ween the co-legis­la­tors and will help sup­port the futu­re of the natu­ral ingre­dients used in cos­me­tics and fragrances.

Fra­gran­ce manu­fac­tu­rers in coun­tries whe­re the­re is no Natio­nal Asso­cia­tion. They have access to infor­ma­tion and ser­vi­ces but can­not vote.
