Dear colleagues and friends, As we move into the second half of 2025, I’m delighted to share several exciting developments at IFRA, showcasing our ongoing commitment to transparency, innovation, sustainability, and education. Launching our new website
Our completely redesigned IFRA website is now live, offering clearer navigation, richer content, and easier access to essential resources such as the IFRA Standards and regulatory updates. Whether you’re a fragrance professional, policymaker, or enthusiast, you’ll find valuable tools to support your engagement with our industry. Publication of the new Transparency List
Reflecting our dedication to openness, we’ve recently published the updated IFRA Transparency List. This edition covers more than 3,600 fragrance ingredients, providing enhanced details on Natural Complex Substances in line with international standards. We believe this update further supports our mission for transparency and consumer trust. Highlights from recent months
This past period has been especially dynamic, with successful international collaborations and regulatory progress: - IFRA-IOFI LATAM Week 2025 in Santiago de Chile was a resounding success, strengthening engagement along the fragrance and flavor value chain in Latin America. The event featured expert discussions on chemical legislation, sustainability, and biodiversity compliance under the Nagoya Protocol.
- Our partnership with IOFI and CAFFCI culminated in the International Symposium on Sustainability in Shanghai, marking an important step forward in sustainability efforts in China. This event welcomed four Chinese companies as new signatories to the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter, highlighting regional commitment to global environmental goals.
- The Perfumery Certificate Course at Hindu College in Delhi continues to flourish, with Module II starting on July 10. This valuable educational program features strong industry collaboration, with participants benefiting from internships and expert teaching from across the fragrance sector.
- In Europe, IFRA, together with six other leading associations from the fragrance, cosmetics, and essential oils sectors, has highlighted the importance of “smart simplification” ahead of the European Commission’s Omnibus proposal on Chemicals, scheduled for publication on 8 July 2025. Recognizing the current complexity in the interaction between the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation and the Cosmetic Products Regulation, IFRA and its partners have urged policymakers to consider science-based, proportionate measures. The associations emphasized the need for regulatory clarity, realistic reformulation timelines, and protection of safe ingredients, ensuring Europe’s global leadership in safety, innovation, and competitiveness in the fragrance and cosmetics sectors.
